Getting Back to Work- Employment course by SPD

SNSA has prepared a series of course and talks on employment for job seekers after stroke. The series comprises of the following:
1. Getting Back to Work (1-day course on 28 June, 9am to 5pm),
2. 4 Steps to Successful Job Search (1-hour talk on 10 July, 10am to 11.30am) 
3. Creating Your Professional Image (1-hour talk on 23 July, 6.30pm to 8.30pm) 
Note: It is mandatory to attend all course and talks.

Getting Back to Work
Programme outline:

  • Understanding Myself

This module touches on the strengths, challenges and fears faced by stroke survivors in their daily lives and in job seeking. 

  • Travelling to Work

Travelling is a part of daily activities for everyone, but it becomes more challenging for stroke survivors with affected mobility. We will look at the challenges faced and brainstorm ideas to make travelling a smoother journey for all.

  • Job Expectations

In this segment, participants will explore their job expectations and understand more about employers’ expectations in employment.

  • Relationships @ Workplace

One of the main reasons for people leaving their jobs is due to relationships with co-workers and supervisors. We will be looking into areas where potential conflicts at work can happen and ways to manage and reduce them.

  • Where and Who can Help Me?

Participants will receive information on resources that can assist them in employment support and also their daily needs.
